This swan seemed to protect his family from other swans. Every time some of the other swans got too close this one would chase them away.
Shame the babies were so far away it was impossible to get a photo of them.

Swan, which will protect their young is quite a resistance to anyone. Such are the kids. Always fading separate ways.

@Jypyä Pop: Yeah, they can get quite angry if one gets too close...

Oiva from Turku, Finland

A nice picture, Swan is one of those birds whose close is not good to go, when it is the chicks!
It can not attack a human on top of if you go too close!:-))Haleja.

Happy Thursday For both of you!

@Oiva: Are you maybe trying to say that swans might attack people if people are getting too close? :) Don't worry, I'm not going to go too close to them...

Mom, I think you should get a Finnish - English - Finnish dictionary and use that together with the Google translator... :)

Jeff & Pat from Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom

I wish I could make myself understood in Finnish as well as your Mom does in English...Oikea nuori nainen. ;>)

12 Jun 2014 6:58pm

@Jeff & Pat: Yeah, her English is not so bad, but sometimes I wish she would even check what Google offers for her... :)
Oikea nuori nainen can be translated to 'A real young woman' or 'A true young woman' or even 'Right young lady'... :)

This is a great example of the many meanings of a simple Finnish sentence: Kuusi palaa
