Sad news from the moose ranch

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Ed, Sweden) on 19 January 2014 in Animal & Insect.

Yesterday I went to see the elks again and heard sad news. The two young calves have both died (calf 1, calf 2), the other just day before yesterday. Nobody knows what happened to them but the rancher told they had died peacefully and no signs of any illness has been found from the dead ones or those who are still alive.
But, there is always something good too, three, possibly four of the cow elks are pregnant so at best they'll have eight new little calves coming in May.

Nice to see you! I hope you enjoy seeing what I saw earlier.
Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Please read this.

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

It was nice "to hear" the news. Whenever they are not good, but they are waiting for the cows are happy news. The picture of the moose appearance is friendly, at least I think so.

@Jypyä Pop: She is a very friendly elk and maybe a little sad too - it was her calf that died in Friday afternoon.

Devi from Chennai, India

That's sad.
But then life and death happen as destiny!!
Happy news of the pregnancy though!!! May there be more healthier elks...

Very sad news, but this cow looks amazing!

@The Mouse: She is amazing... There were no fences between me and her and still I didn't feel need to be afraid as she was behaving so nicely all the time.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States
