If you can't peal the onion under water as Jypya says here...keep chewing some gum ( chewing gum) as this will prevent tears rolling down your cheeks!! Or leave the onions in the refrigerator overnight and peel them :)))))

I usually don't have much tears in my eyes because of the onions - a sharp knife is the best thing for to prevent the tears.
