Mist rising from Stora Le

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Turku, Finland) on 28 September 2013 in Landscape & Rural.

Yesterday morning I bicycled to work and the temperature was -2.1°C... I already miss summer....
There was some mist rising from the lake Stora Le and if you look really closely you can see the ground was quite frozen in Ed in the morning.

On those living in the Arctic latitudes is severe. A little more than half a year after the can while waiting for the hot weather period of time, whatever it was.

What a beautiful view, and so familiar! This landscape is as gorgeous now, in the autumn, when in the middle of the summer!:-))Haleja.

First frost of winter?

That does sound so early, is it normal for this time of year?

28 Sep 2013 5:24pm

@CElliottUK: I think it's usually about a month later when the temperatures are like this around here, so a bit early frost...

The Mouse from Glasgow, United Kingdom

Och, you'll be back in Greenock before you know it!
Lovely shot, I must say I think I enjoy winter as much as summer , it's just the muddy bits in between that's annoying.
Actually, really really lovely shot.

28 Sep 2013 8:28pm

@The Mouse: Hehe, I don't know about Greenock, but I wouldn't mind moving back somewhere in Scotland. Somehow Greenock was a lovely place but when in so small town you hear almost every other day that someone has been stabbed to death/near death it lowers the loveliness of the place. And the wonderful sight of someone injecting drugs into their veins also was something I can live without - that I saw there almost every week.

Thank you. I like winter too, but it could be a little shorter, max two months or so... :) It seems we are skipping that muddy bit this year unless this frost was just a short warning before it...

Devi from Chennai, India
