Stoat and a mallard

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Ed, Sweden) on 9 September 2013 in Animal & Insect.

I think the stoat was hoping to get a nice fat duck dinner.

Panasonic DMC-GH2 1/160 second F/13.0 ISO 400 146 mm (35mm equiv.)

Nice to see you! I hope you enjoy seeing what I saw earlier.
Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Please read this.

Send this photo to a contest. Such a situation will arise only once in a lifetime. You had it now.

@Jypyä Pop: I'll have to think about the photo contest... The terms and conditions on those are usually bit too much for me...
Thank you!

Oiva from Turku, Finland

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Two super shots of the stoat, I recently found a pair living in the pier wall by the beach in South Shields and as (bad) luck would have it I didn't have a camera with me that day!

@Curly: Thank you very much!
You'll have to go to that pier with the camera and just wait for them to show up again. :)

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

What a perfect shot. Do what Jypya says-now!

@CElliottUK: Thank you very much!
First I'd need to find a contest that don't require me to give up all my rights for the photo...

Devi from Chennai, India

Classic shot Ursula !!! The stoat looks as if he's about to grab her!!!!

9 Sep 2013 3:26pm

@Devi: Thank you, Devi. It really looked like the stoat was going to jump on the mallard for a while but then he didn't.

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Well it looks as though he may get his wish :-) Love this one :-)

@Denny Jump Photo: I think he could easily catch the bird - the bird has only one healthy leg...
Thank you Denny!
