White Wagtail

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Ed, Sweden) on 21 April 2013 in Animal & Insect.

Yesterday morning right after 7 am I went out with the camera. My intention was to shoot the melting ice and I did, but then there was this sign of spring walking on ice and I totally forgot the ice. :)

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

White wagtails are the northern variant of grey wagtails that we have in southern England. I've only seen the white ones in Scotland

21 Apr 2013 4:39pm

@CElliottUK: The white ones are in Finland considered as a sign of the coming summer, according to an old poem it's only a short while from the first wagtail till summer starts.

Ruthiebear from Titusville, NJ, United States
