Orange thin in the middle of nowhere

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Ed, Sweden) on 5 February 2013 in Documentary & Street.

Saw this orange old petrol pump close to a forest here in Ed couple of days ago. Looks like it hasn't been used for a while... :)

I think next week we may finally got to continue with the Christmas bird and her eggs...

Canon PowerShot SX30 IS 1/200 second F/5.6 ISO 400 5 mm

Nice to see you! I hope you enjoy seeing what I saw earlier.
Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Please read this.

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

It's a ghost petrol station. They are full moon tank restaurants closing at midnight or three in the morning.

5 Feb 2013 5:10am

@Jypyä Pop: It may very well be one of those places...

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

Fascinating place to find it stood alone like that

5 Feb 2013 7:51am

@Doug: Yep, it's good to keep the eyes open for things like this...

Oiva from Turku, Finland

Color in the middle of the forest, but does not belong there, why some people do not know where is the the landfill! Here is also all kinds of debris in the forests, they are not nice! Great shot!:-))Haleja

Happy ST day for both of you!

5 Feb 2013 8:43am

@Oiva: It's not actually dumped there, it looks like there has been a petrol station some time in the past. Or at least this one pump for some vehicles.
I agree people should learn where to take their rubbish.

eligreg from Madrid, Spain

Very exceptional! Awesome colored shot

@eligreg: Thank you!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

It does a bit unloved and forgotten

5 Feb 2013 11:22am

@CElliottUK: Yep, looks like that.

Ari from Turku, Finland

Nämä ovat muuten keräilijöille arvokkaita

5 Feb 2013 11:28am

@Ari: Niinhän ne on, mutta enpä taida ryhtyä kenellekkään myymään kun ei tiedä jos sen joku jo oikeasti omistaakin. :)

Christine from Ellemford, United Kingdom

It certainly looks out of place!

5 Feb 2013 1:36pm

@Christine: Yep.

Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom

Maybe someone stole it, thinking it was full of petrol . ;>)

5 Feb 2013 3:13pm

@Jeff: I don't think so as it was firmly mounted on the ground. I think it has been used sometime in past in this same location. :)

The Mouse from Glasgow, United Kingdom

I like how nature has reclaimed the forecourt.
Lovely old pump.

5 Feb 2013 5:26pm

@The Mouse: Nature has such great powers to take back something it has lost.
I like the pump too, much nicer looking than the current ones.
