Very early one morning soon after I had found the nest, I heard some angry sounds from behind our patio door but I was too tired to get up and go see what was going on. Later that morning when I woke up and looked out and saw these - the mysterious Christmas bird had been behind my door trying to get to her nest and I did not open the door for her!
I sure hope she gets back here soon because I think her eggs need her. I have done my best to keep them in the right temperature for her, but I'm not an expert...

Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

Quite metal flange-looking feathers. Must have been a real oddity.

@Jypyä Pop: Yeah, they aren't as soft as the usual feathers... I can't wait to see the bird!

OOh! Aren't you lucky! These are Phoenix feathers, so rare these days. You could always sell them to the magicians wand shop in Diagon ally

15 Jan 2013 2:20pm

@CElliottUK: I think I'll keep these in case my magic wand needs a spare part... :)

Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom

If you wrap the eggs in tinsel, place them gently in a box, and store away from bright light, "and most important" Get your Lazy carcass out of bed next time you hear something at your door, you may save them. ;>))

15 Jan 2013 3:09pm

@Jeff: I promise to get to the door next time I hear something! They must be saved. :)
