The Bridge of Aura

Posted by
ursulakatariina (Ed, Sweden) on 10 December 2012 in Cityscape & Urban.

Now I'm gonna show few shots I took with the Ilford Sportsman in Turku, Finland. All were shot on a dark day while the snow was slowly covering the ground.
This is one of the bridges crossing the River Aura. Bridge is called 'The bridge of Aura', it was opened for traffic in 1907, it is 47 meters long and 12 meters wide.
I have adjusted the contrast a little and added the watermark on these photos, but that's it, no other tricks.
Thank you daddy for scanning and sending the pictures!

Nice to see you! I hope you enjoy seeing what I saw earlier.
Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Please read this.

Jypyä Pop from Turku, Finland

It is almost a historical view. I have personally experienced that same camera, this hobby about 50 years ago. The camera has to set the values of trying to guess or a separate light meter form. Not just a simple thing.

@Jypyä Pop: Thanks.
I totally forgot that you have the light meter too! I actually saw it in your computer room on the day we left... I don't know if I would have known how to use it, but I could have tried! Maybe next time when we come to Turku. :)

@CElliottUK: It helps to create the feeling when there aren't any cars on the bridge.

Jeff from Pembroke Dock, United Kingdom

Beautifully moody shot, I had one back in the early sixties but for the life of me i can't remember which model it was, I do know I swapped it for an early Ricoh.
