Karelian pie

This is a Karelian pie made by me yesterday. Karelian pies is one of the food I miss most from Finland.
It has been minimum 10 years since I have last made Karelian pies, but yesterday they turned out to be perfect - the taste is great and I should make them more often.

I've just Wiki'd it, it sounds so odd to have a pie that can be filled with potato...or Rice pudding! Which type is this?

@CElliottUK: This is filled with rice pudding (or porridge as we call it). The ones with mashed potato are good too, but I prefer the ones with rice porridge.

Yum! I could never make this, I wonder how you make it stay in the correct shape since it is also very soft? I hope this is a rice type one mmmmh.

@Rubyvixi: You should try sometime - it's not so hard to make these. I think it's the porridge that helps the pie to keep it's shape.
And yes, this is with the rice.
