Horned Grebe

Posted by ursulakatariina (Turku, Finland) on 5 June 2011 in Animal & Insect.

Today my daddy took me to one of his favourite bird watching places and there was so much to see! Swans, horned grebes, coots, swallows, butterflies and I don't even remember all the pretty birds and insects I saw today...

Nice to see you! I hope you enjoy seeing what I saw earlier.
Please, leave a comment so I know you have been here.

I got a colour spotlight, see it here.

Please read this.

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

These are rare-I mean really rare! Well seen!

@CElliottUK: This is taken in Finland and these aren't so rare there - around 4000 nesting couples in there, but still I think this is the first time I saw these. There were atleast two of these swimming and diving around and they really made me run around to get a decent photo!

The Mouse from Glasgow, United Kingdom

I'll take celliotec's word for it.
Nice spot.

@The Mouse: Yeah, wikipedia says there is only 70 to 80 couples of these in Scotland, so here they are really rare - I can only hope I'll see one here too!

Uistnomad from North Uist, United Kingdom

Well captured

@Uistnomad: Thank you.

Jypyä Pop from Finland

Upea potretti.
